Mahogany, Inc. in the Community

Builders-In-Training Workshop

The first BC&E Builders-In-Training Workshop was held on April 22nd at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. 100 students in construction trades programs at a number of local high schools attended and saw presentations and participated in demonstrations held by a number of local contractors, including Mahogany.

Here’s what Mahogany estimator Ron Mehalko said to students, as written in the eXchange:

Woodworking was always something I was interested in, but no one ever showed me career options,” said Ron Mehalko, an estimator/sales professional with Mahogany.

After passing around examples of Mahogany’s finely milled molding, Mehalko explained to students how an interest in carpenter could translate into a wide variety of career, including elite custom carpenters, programmers and engineers for computerized woodworking machines, and carpentry company owners, such as Mahogany founder Jeffrey Hargrave.

He came from simple roots, working in the field. But he worked hard and he worked smart and moved into managing and estimating and eventually started his own company,” Mehalko said.

Maryland AGC Charity Golf Tournament

Mahogany participated in the 15th Annual Maryland AGC Charity Golf Tournament, which is held to benefit the Fisher House Foudnation, which provides a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.

MWMCA 12th Annual Spring Breakfast

Mahogany recently attended the 12th Annual 2015 Spring Breakfast Meeting/Business Showcase Expo, help by the Md. Washington Minority Companies Association. The MWMCA advocates for minority andwomen construction trade contractors, suppliers, and service providers and aims to connect large and small businesses to work together. Here are some pictures from the event!
